Career planning tools

We often recommend some career planning tools to assist with making decisions. The following 3 tools require a booked session with a counsellor, the tools provide a great start for your career and education exploration. These are available at Thompson Rivers University through their counselling centre.

Strong Interest Inventory (2012 edition)

The Strong measures your interests in a broad range of occupations, work activities, leisure activities, and school subjects. It’s used to predict the kinds of work you may find satisfying. Book a Career Counselling Session and request the Strong, the complete Strong is a bargain at $40; the shorter version is $25. This assessment requires a counsellor referral to the Assessment Centre.

Career Cruising

The Career Matchmaker function of Career Cruising is used to generate potentially satisfying jobs. It’s password protected and free to our students. Make an appointment with a counsellor and we will provide you with the password information free of charge.

TypeFocus

TypeFocus generates a Jungian personality type which can be useful when evaluating different work ideas or education plans. It’s also password protected and free to our students.
